Celebrate Earth Day in Hoboken
Earth Day is just around the corner and there are several opportunities near your Bexley apartment to help the planet. From activities to pizza parties to long-term projects, we have you covered for all of your needs on April 22 and beyond.
Earth Week Activities — Dedicate an entire week to saving the planet with Hoboken’s week of activities. Representatives from the city will host a series of educational workshops on farming, tree planting and water-use. Don’t forget to stop by and drop off your waste products, such as appliances, CDs, small furniture and other items. For a full lineup of events, go here: https://bit.ly/2qX0OJG.
Pizza for the Planet — You definitely won’t mind traveling a little out of town for this celebration. Porta’s Jersey City location is hosting a fundraiser for Friends of Liberty State Park, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the beautiful green urban state park behind Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Pay what you want for Porta’s special Earth Day pie and enjoy raffles, specialty drinks, a live DJ, giveaways and crafts for both adults and children. The party begins 11 a.m. April 22. Get a community garden plot — Earth Day should not be dedicated to one day, so why not commit to a long-term project? Hoboken features three community gardens, which you can use to grow your own food. Think of all the plastic that you will not be using from the grocery store now.
